We don't know enough yet about CT on the DS, But it's PSone outing suffers from massive amounts of lag with literally EVERY SINGLE THING you do! (Just like the Paper Mario's & the Mario & Luigi series)Īnd giving a character one weapon instead of another will result in a completely different way of fighting.įor one FF4 on the ds looks absolutely nothing like it's 2D original used on FFC, The game has been completely remasterd into 3D with tons of cut-scenes. Other then that & minigames (Which often do things differentially) your stuck doing things in battles.īut that really isn't a bad thing, This game has a wonderful combat system that's as fun as it is zainny. (Which will usually up your level quite a bit) As you could see in that video you can get a Power Star that instantly kills anything you hit or anything that hits you. You can jump on them resulting in a battle that gives you the lead advantage.

Well unfortunately at the end of the day there are only two things you can do to enemys outside of combat. Trying to remember if the spin jump was in here or not though.
SUPER MARIO RPG SERIES
Giving the porky little plummer and his friends souls (Character depth & in some case's backstory) made me feel closer to the series then I had felt in quite a long time. Because at the time it was FREAKING MARIO in a FREAKING RPG!Īnd also. Grandia 2, Skies of Arcadia, And Lunar Legend (Legend because I missed the better PSone port and its sequel. (Sometimes even just beating the game)Īnd the List of JRPG games that I have played several times over is vary short.Ĭhrono Trigger, Radical Dreamers, And Crono Cross (Not just because I had to see all the endings, They are just THAT good.) I've never liked any of the FF installments enough to play them completely more once. I still wouldn't up and flat out dismiss the game, But if that drawn-out tail of good vs evil isn't your thing I can't blame ya. Thu 10th Jul then you're probably right.Maybe if I try playing it again now I'll be able to get into it.? I was a little bit younger when it first came out I just didn't really know what I was supposed to be doing. There are a few interesting items like that in the game.Īt any rate, it's a great game! And to add to previous discussion, I never could get into earthbound. There is one thing you get from the hidden boss of the game (Culex), the quartz amulet, that halves damage taken by one character and increases all the damage they give. Aside from that, stat raising is about the only thing I can remember from the game's equipment.

How do you mean " do anything"? The different accessories prevent certain types of status effects, they raise different stats, things like that. The weapons and armor usually only affect your attack and defense, but some armors will raise your attack/magic attack in addition. Wed 18th Jun you can equip different weapons (they all look uniquely different in battle when you equip them), armor, and accessories.
